Close to Midnight

It is close to midnight, and I am feeling inspired.

Have you ever experienced a period in your life when so many things in your life were in flux, and yet you felt more inspired than you had ever experienced before?

Well, that is what I am feeling and experiencing right now.  Any and all things are possible, for there is no limit to the possibilities that are set before us.  If only we could reach out for them.

I have always had this little problem since childhood however, it is that I never want to leave anyone else behind, instead, I have always wanted to take other people with me, in particular, when there is something good in store up ahead and I am still that way to do this day.

Politicians, and our other leaders, are on the other hand, doing what they typically have been doing - bickering back and forth and fighting for what they want for themselves, not their constituents.  Religious leaders, teachers and religious groups are doing what they typically do as well, that is to engage in infighting, intolerance and sophist arguments about which group has a exclusive monopoly on the truth - I call it, justification theology.  Gangbangers are still gangbanging, dealers are dealing, nations are at war, children are being abducted and people are still doing other dumb stuff often to themselves and to other people.

And the good that is being done by individuals or groups of human beings, is often overshadowed by some knucklehead who rapes, kills, steals, molests, monopolizes wealth, monetizes everything else, lies, has a need to dominate as opposed to cooperate (with other people).  So what is there to be inspired about, if not invigorated about?

Answer, there is a whole lot to be inspired about, because there are still so many great people on the earth, who are still doing good deeds in the midst of the chaos.  They are making great things happen in spite of all, to include negative people and influences.

At times, we will simply have to tune out all of the rest, and focus on the good stuff that is being done today, and will be done by all of the unheralded heroes in the world, in the future.  Too much undeserved attention is being given to the others.  On an almost daily basis, I keep meeting phenomenal people of every color, ilk, gender, nationality ... who are making a positive difference in the world.  My view of the world, is essentially this, that the world is still a pretty cool place to live, and it is full of possibilities!

So, kudos to all of the good people who are working to bring about positive social change, to include pursuing peace in the world.   To the other knuckleheads who have made it their lifelong quest, it would seem, to be bitter or to wreak havoc in the world, sadly, we have to tolerate you (when you drive too fast, drink too much, break the rules, hurt or destroy other people and things, steal, lie, rape, molest or think only of yourself and typically engage in the pursuit of ill-gotten gain, but hopefully, not forever!

Peace out!
The Rev
