Mostly Second String Leadership At the Top

In terms of leadership: America is desperately in need of  competent, patriotic and qualified individuals that  are capable of leading our diversely complex and bifurcated nation, in these unprecedented times.   __________________________________________

The fact of the matter is, we might have to do what American consumers have typically done in the past, when making a decision to purchase a reliable vehicle - we might have to import some reliable political leaders from overseas.

An American citizen, certainly cannot rely on American-Conservative Republican made models, to take them where they want to go (even if we are their owners).  Republican vehicles tend to ignore their owner's (the American people) commands, and proceed in a direction of their own choosing.

You might as well toss the owner's manual, The United State's Constitution, out of the window as far as they are concerned.  And how much will it cost, if you if you were to acquire a Republican one, even at an auction?  Hint:  They tend to go to the highest corporate bidder!

If the majority will simply stand up again, just as it did during the the runnup to the 2008 Election, against tyranny, we can return the power to the majority of the people,  and vanquish self-serving politicians from office. We have got to, at all cost, get rid of the second and third string leadership that currently exists in all 3 branches of government, and to eliminate the new crop that intends to pick up where the others have left off.

Single payer and the public option: I was listening to a speaker on cable TV, a few nights ago.  He explained what was wrong with the leadership in Washington. He used the insurance initiative of 2 years ago, to make his point. What he said was this: Seventy nine percent of Americans wanted single payer insurance, and the public option. And instead, approximately 300 plus politicians in Washington DC, decided that what the majority of Americans wanted, over 100 million of us, paled in comparison to what they wanted. And, the majority failed to get, in its entirety, what it wanted.  In a representative democracy, that ought to be unthinkable.

America is in crisis mode, and anyone who cannot see that, must be blind or a Republican. And sadly, there are many Americans who fit into this category. Can you believe it, the majority of Americans still believe in politicians, in deference to high unemployment, rising costs, home foreclosures, war at any cost, college tuition increases, a crumbling infrastructure and favoritism for the wealthy.

I cannot blame naive Americans in this sense, given that they are receiving help from clandestine, self-serving individuals on the right, who would have them to believe that the real problem in America has nothing to do with them or their jaundiced right-winged policies.

Are Americans so naive to believe, after watching the debacle that occurred under the most recent Republican administration, that was buttressed for 6 years by a Republican controlled Congress, that things are going to be any different now that Republicans are in charge of Congress, the Supreme Court and perhaps the White House next year? Have Americans forgotten how America got into the predicament that it is in now as a result of Republican leadership over most of the past 30 years?  And their objective today is to consolidate their power again, by reclaiming the 3rd jewel, the White House in 2012.

My message is simple. Americans need to finish what they started when they worked to change the leadership in Washington DC beginning in 2006, when they rightly swept Republicans from control of the Congress, and in 2008 when they took back the White House.  The problem that followed, however, was with the replacement leader that the American people selected, President Barack Obama, a neophyte who lacked the know how, and the requisite skillsets, to lead such a timely revolution. Am I stumping for a candidate to replace our incumbent president too? The answer is yes,   President Obama, and the Republican filibusterers in the Senate,  have had their shots, and all of them together have miserrably failed the American majority.

And as a result, the majority of Americans need to come together again, and to carefully select and elect the kind of leadership that is needed to get the job done in Washington DC, and the rest of the nation for that matter.  Our lives depend on it, and we cannot wait any longer.  What Americans cannot and should not do, conversely, is to stay home and sulk, given all of the miscues, deliberate subterfuge, filibustering by Republicans and the leadership at the top in both the past and the current administrations.

The Republican controlled House in Washington DC,  has worked overtime to retain control of the American narrative, and to thwart any effort by Democrats and Independents, to reach a compromise that will result in America's problems being solved.  And they continue to employ their craft, in deference to all of their past and current, failures to lead.  And when you consider that they are responsible for America being in the predicament that it is in today, their customary use of obstructionist tactics, borders on being criminal.

The majority of Americans, will tell you that current President Barack Obama, and former President George H Bush Jr. are both decent fellows, and therefore who am I to say to that they are not?  The fact of the matter is that decency alone, should not be the single determinant used  to decide who should lead, whether in the Oval Office,  Congress, the Supreme Court or other.  Given the current set of circumstances in the nation, decency is simply not good enough.  There are plenty of decent individuals who simply lack the skillsets to preside, aside from these two.  Why? Too many lives are arguably at stake,  not only ours, but the lives of other individuals in the world who are impacted by the decisions made in America.  What happens in America, has an effect upon the entire world
America, arguably, remains the leading nation in the world, at least for the time being.  And therefore, it is critical that Americans place exceptional leadership at the helm.
And all too often, especially of late, too many Americans have done just that, exercised their franchise with a singular aim in mind, one that supports their position, in deference to the needs and desires of everyone else.  Among the candidates who have already thrown their towels into the Presidential election ring for 2012, and the one's who are still contemplating doing so, in my opinion, none of them, the most highly visible in the lot, are ready to lead.

Some of them are simply the best that money can buy, and that is about all.  But to be certain, they are not statesmen or stateswomen, and they lack the kind of  leadership vision, strength and others abilities that are necessary lead in such a diverse nation and world.  None of these individuals are capable of undoing the current predicament that America was guided into, by incompetent leaders, that previously felt that they knew better than the majority of Americans, what was needed.  In fact, the current crop, from where I am standing are not any different from the current or former group of failed leaders, individuals, who had their own motives for wanting to lead.  And as a result, America and the world are both in an American caused predicament.
One thing that is still great about America is this, even if you don't have any money, you still have the power to vote, and that may be more valuable than anything that you possess, or can pay for with money!
Romney, Cain, Gingrich, Obama, Palin … come on folks. These individuals have had their chances before to make a difference in America, and from what I can tell about any of them, all that America will end up getting is what we have gotten in the past, the kind of political maneuvering that favors a singular class group.

I also predict that if Americans were to elect any of them to lead, Americans will simply keep getting what we have been getting in the past, gridlock, filibustering, partisan politics and political internecine wars in Washington DC … while at the same time, the majority of Americans will suffer on the sidelines.  I would implore the American people to seriously reconsider the manner, and the motives that they operated under in the past to select America's failed leaders.

Already, the education of our children is as stake, most Americans can no longer earn a living wage, the great society has become the bumbling society, economic disparities have increased, our political systems are no longer serving us and in fact the nation is at a stalemate.  And isn't it ironic that with respect to employment, that Americans were considered to be the most productive in the world.  So what happened?  More and more Americans are being dumped into the streets, while corporate pay has increased exponentially for executives, which has resulted in a certain wealthy elite having never done better.

What we need are change agents, of the kind that will implement and enforce the will of the American majority, as opposed to satisfying a self-serving minority political hate group. And not only do we need change agents, the American people need to change, and stop being so naive - the system is at a stalemate.  For just as it happened with insurance reform 2 years ago, I suspect that we will experience more of the same in the future, if we don't make the necessary changes to install leaders who will listen to what the majority of the American people want.

What we really need are fewer of the kind of leaders that are currently in office, and instead and representatives and servants, to include a President, who understands that they both they, or he and she have been placed into office represent and to be responsive to the will of the majority of the American people. Otherwise, the American people and families are in for a an extension of current nightmare.

Can you imagine what America will be like in 2015, if we don't act in 2012?  Cleaning house won't do any good, if we are simply going to replace the old crop, with a new crop of leaders who are essentially the same as the group of previous failed leaders.  And how much does it cost Americans to employ and insure failed leadership at the top - frankly, and given the current case- we would have been better off without them, and we would have saved a lot of money!

I would love to receive your feedback?

Solomon
